"Japan We Care" card-making and nursing homes visit

Our hearts go out to the people of Japan impacted by the earthquake and tsunami events in Japan in early 2011. Feeling the need to reach out to our Japan nursing homes residents and operators, the staff of PLife REIT conceived the idea of sending our care and warmth through creating hand-made cards, and delivering them to the elderly at our Japan nursing homes during a visit.

In June 2011, staff members of PLife REIT joined hands with student volunteers from Nan Hua High School and Central Christian Church in two fun-filled days creating personalised cards for the elderly at the nursing homes.

Carrying these cards brimming with well wishes, CEO Yong Yean Chau on 4 July 2011 led a team of PLife REIT staff to visit four of our nursing homes in Fukuoka, Japan. Besides delivering the hand-made cards and souvenirs, the team enjoyed a heart-warming day interacting with the elderly residents. Personalised cards were also sent to residents in the rest of our Japan nursing homes we did not get to visit this time.
